Supporting children, young people and adults to participate confidently in the environments that matter most to them.
Occupational Therapy doesn't just happen in a clinic. We provide intervention and support within homes, schools, workplaces and the wider community, helping individuals develop meaningful skills in real-life situations. Community-based intervention promotes lasting change by working collaboratively with families, carers, employers and support networks.
Services may include:
Community-based Occupational Therapy intervention
Home visits
School, college and university support
Workplace support and reasonable adjustment recommendations
Accessing leisure and community activities
Developing independence and life skills
Transition support
Functional assessments within everyday environments
Online Occupational Therapy
At NARA OT, we recognise that accessing support isn't always straightforward. That's why many of our assessments, consultations and intervention sessions can be delivered online where clinically appropriate.
Online Occupational Therapy can be a valuable option for individuals who live in rural or remote areas, those outside of our local catchment, or people who may find travelling difficult due to health, disability, anxiety or other commitments. It can also provide a comfortable starting point for those who currently find attending unfamiliar environments overwhelming, allowing therapy to begin in a familiar setting before transitioning to face-to-face sessions if appropriate.
For some people, online therapy simply works better. They feel more relaxed, communicate more openly and engage more confidently from the comfort of their own home. Others prefer to keep different areas of their life separate, choosing to access therapy remotely while maintaining their routines at home, work or education.
Where appropriate, online sessions can also give therapists valuable insight into an individual's everyday environment, allowing recommendations and strategies to be developed within the context of real life. Whether delivered online or in person, our focus remains the same: providing meaningful, evidence-based Occupational Therapy that is flexible, collaborative and centred around what matters most to you.
